Edit: Since 2008, Viper V10 produces 600bhp.

A: Definitely the Corvette ZR1, but it’s not a fair comparison. You’re comparing a turbocharged 3.5 V6 to a supercharged 6.2 V8. 638hp vs. 485hp and a big torque difference. The GT-R would however, give the Vette a run for its money and probably match a Z06.

A: I think the budget of 15-20K is not a bad start plus all of the headaches getting out all of the bugs. Should be awesome when it is done though. I don’t think putting in an LS3, came in the 08+ Vette btw, would be a good place to start from an economic standpoint. I would get an LS1, add a good set of heads, cam and you would be making more power for a lot less money.

Like was mentioned, getting the drive-line parts, ECM, harness, etc, is going to send you past 20K when it is all said and done.

A: If you have the used one checked out THOROUGHLY, it would be the better buy for someone on a budget.

There are those who want and can afford a NEW car, wanting to break it in their OWN way, without regard to depreciation or anything else.

A: Just a concept, but I would love to see some of the design concepts applied to future Vettes. The split rear window, a’la 1963 is awesome and the car looks killer from the sides, especially the front fenders, very third gen reminiscent. The rear is about the ugliest thing I have ever seen though.

The ZO6 will be faster and more suited for racing(1/4 mile and road racing), the GS ‘vert is more of a cruiser with a good amount of power.

It really depends on the intended use of the car, you can’t say one is “better” than other just looking at them at face value.

The 911 is down 138 HP, is heavier, and has more drive-train(4-wheel drive), yet does 0-60 in 2.9 seconds(versus 3.3), and a quicker quarter mile.

Someone is seriously fudging the numbers here. I seem to remember a test back in the late 80’s also where a 200HP 911 waxed a 300HP twin Turbo 300ZX.

A: No, GM is not lying about the output, every ZR1 I’ve seen dyno’ed has been around what they should be.

Of course the 911 is gonna have a quicker 0-60 due to the AWD, that can easily make up for a HP difference.

You also neglected to mention that the ZR1 was actually faster at the Mazda Speedway track. You have to remember on thing about magazine times, a lot of times they’re biased and inaccurate. I’ve personally seen 4 BONE STOCK ZR1’s run 10.90’s ALL DAY LONG(yay for living within an hour or 2 of 4 major tracks) at the strip, they just need a competent driver, the 911 will be a little more forgiving due to the AWD. Trap speed shows the REAL power, ET is more traction and driver skill. Just keep that in mind. Horsepower isn’t the end all be all when it comes to track times, there are many, many other factors.

Load, what are you talking about? The Corvette is too heavy and takes too long to corner? What crack are you smoking? Seriously. Did you SEE where it BEAT the 911 in the ROAD course. Please think before saying dumb stuff like that….this isn’t the ’80’s. The Corvette has been a great handling car since the C5 came out….

Why do people compare sportscar to muscle car. That’s like putting the gt against a camaro am I right. The gt would obviously win. So why do people put videos of sports car vs muscle. Everyone knows unless you really upgrade the muscle car it would win. So why do corvette vs muscle car. Because, muscle cars are for drag racing. So they weigh more then spots car corvette’s like 1000 pounds mustang is like 1 ton. About 2 times the weight of sports car so if it weighed the same as the a sports car the muscle car may win , and chances are better for it then. Also is the camaro still considered a muscle car. Q: Which 2011 Ford Mustang should I pick?!?
Now with the 2011 Ford Mustangs out, I am so in love with them!!!!

I decide to get a 2011 Mustang, except the GT500 (I think they are an over performance for me). The performance of both V6 and GT are so astonishing to me, that I just have to get one!!!! But that is the problem, should I get a GT or a V6?

The V6 has a 4 cylinder fuel economy, with a performance of a V8, with a cheaper price of course. The GT had just took it to the next level, with a performance not far from a Corvette, with a good fuel economy. If it was the 2010 Mustang, I will get a GT of course, the V6 is just a hell to me. Now, with both V6 and GT like that, it is so hard to pick…. Since the only difference between this 2 is GT with the higher power, but V6 with the higher fuel economy. The handling and braking is pretty much the same.

I have already owned a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (Got it used so don’t laugh please), and I think I just want a Mustang to cruise but sometime I want to have a blast with performance. With both huge powers, perfect fuel economies, and everything about them is just perfect…. I do not know which one to pick, a V6 or GT. Please Help! Thank You! :)

A: You are one lucky man to have the chance to choose. Im just hoping i can afford either one. Id say go for the GT (5.0) because every mustang enthusiast and competitor know that the legendary 5.0 is the boss baby.
