Q: Is the 2010 Chevrolet Impala newly redesigned?
I was curious to know if Chevrolet has changed the body of the Impala for the 2010 Model? Does anybody know? I haven’t seen no information about it or seen any pictures.

A: Please check out the link posted. This idea for the rear wheel drive 2010 impala is still only talk but chevrolet has already built the concept cars for testing. The link also shows a great pic of this car.Best of luck. http://www.motortrend.com/auto_news/112_news061024_future_chevy_impala/index.html

Q: price of 2010 chevrolet impala 17 inch forged polished aluminum wheel covers?

A: If they are Original equipment call a dealer or two and price shop, aftermarket check with local car parts stores.

Q: who else thinks that the 2010 the chevrolet impala should be changed to rear wheel drive with optional AWD?
it would be great if you can get all wheel drive with such an awesome car, GM people should consider making rear/all wheel drive on this car

A: I totally agree with you. I’m not much of an AWD person, but it would be a great combo with the LS series engine. If they make a FWD malibu, it only makes sense to have a RWD/AWD Impala. Look how well the 300C sells.
I believe the RWD impala is actually on the way though. Check out GMinsidenews.com for this kind of stuff. they have a neat future product guide.

Q: will the chevrolet impala change to rear wheel drive (zeta platform) for 2010 model?
Driver of a 2008 chevrolet impala

curious to see what will happen when my lease will be up

maybe a GM/Chevrolet Engineer has a concrete answer?

A: I’m not sure its been officially announced but it really looks that way.

Currently its built on the old W-body platform along with the Grand Prix, a few Buicks, and Monte Carlo. The Monte was canceled for low sales and the Grand Prix was replaced by the G8 which is on the Zeta platform. The plant they were made it is being converted over to build the Zeta platform. I cant seen them spending the money to move production somewhere else on a 20 yr old platform that is only used for 1 car.

Q: I have a 2008 Dodge durango that is starting to mess up, and am wondering what is a nice sedan that will last?
I am looking at a 2010 Chevrolet Impala LTZ, are they pretty good?
I am 17 years old, whats a good vehicle for a 17 year old boy?

A: If you are looking for long lasting vehicles, then Japanese is the way to go, Accord, Camry etc.
If you only buy American, then yeah I guess an Impala would be a decent choice as any.
If you are looking to spend some cash, and don’t really have a spend cap, then Volvo would be an option.
Just my 2 cents.

Since you are 17, I would suggest something that will last at least 10 years, give you the least amount of hassle, cheap on gas, easy on maintenance, and pleasing enough to the eye. Civic comes to mind, yeah I know EVERYONE and their Grandma’s own one, but there is a reason for that. They are good cars.

Q: Does 2010 Chevy Malibu come in a 2 door Cp? And with a V6?
Also…Which is the best built, most reliable Chevrolet car? …Impala….Malibu….Cobalt…ot other? thanks. I’m looking to dump my junk Toyota for a GM, or a Ford Focus Cp…. I had enough of oriental cars. But I want one that is GOOD! thanks. Malibu is currently my preference but I want a 2 door, and a V6 engine. Recomendations? Thanks!

A: No 2 door Malibu, yes it has an optional V6.

The Malibu is a really solid car. Don’t even think about the Focus, complete POS….if you’re considering Ford at least look at the Fusion, definitely a solid car.

A: Don’t get the Charger, it will be way to fast for you, and you will smash it. I learned not to get fast cars when I got a 350Z for my first car. Don’t get the Kia because Kia’s aren’t very dependable. Definitely not the Jaguar, another fast car. I would say either of the Pontiac’s, the Impala, or the Acura. Just my opinion though.

Q: Buy a new car-yes or no?Or wait?
I am looking to trade in my 2006 chevrolet Impala LS (excellent condition-above blue book) with no money out of pocket down, for a new Impala LS. I financed it and owe $15,000.00 on it and dealers are offering me abpout $9,000.00 trade in value for it. Yes i am upside down on the financing for it and my previous trade in. I am being offered GM rebates of about $3500.00 . My main concern right now is monthly payment. MY payment, right now, is $420.00 month. If i trade in for a new one it will increase to about $480.00 month. My most recent and best offer is for a new 2009 Impala LS at $395.00 month (7.7% interest rate) or $450.00 month (2.9 interest rate). I have till the end of August 2009 when my factory warranty expires and rebates expire next week.Would you take the $395.00 month payment? Yes or no? Or wait till the new 2010 model year starts and then buy a new 2009 Impala at a discount-maybe with rebates. There were a few minor warranty issues with factory rust and a cracked battery-the warranty covered this however, it expires in August this year. Any input or advice? Thanks

A: Keep your 2006 right now. You have too much negative equity and are just digging yourself a bigger hole if you trade it in.

There is no sense in adding on additional negative equity when you drive your new car off the lot to save $25 a month. You will end up $10K in the hole when you factor in the negative equity you have in yoru current car.

Besides, on the 2009 models, the deals are not going to expire next week. They can only get better for you.
Chevy will have 2009 Impala’s on their lot at the end of the year and will be begging you to take them. Heck, they may even offer 0% financing again.

Q: question Camaro owners or experts?
Are the door handles for the 2010 and up Chevrolet camaro the same as the door handles with other car?
they look a bit like the ones for the impala. Do they share the same part?

A: Knowing GM, I’m sure they are.

A $40,000+ Corvette has used the same shifter as a $15,000 Camaro as well at times.

Q: Dale Earnhardt Jr. to RCR in 2011?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s comments at Charlotte that he’s at the end of his rope, along with the strong inference by Kevin Harvick that he’s leaving Richard Childress Racing at the end of next season.

And then, as he put it, Kelly connected the dots and came up with an intriguing possibility: could Harvick’s leaving open the door for Earnhardt to leave Hendrick Motorsports and join RCR for 2011? .

Think about it: Harvick leaves RCR and Junior arrives, just in time for the 10th anniversary of his late father’s death at Daytona International Speedway. What better way for Junior and Childress to make a huge splash than by bringing back the black No. 3 Chevrolet – and for Little E to drive it.

“Everybody out there knows that the Childress-Dale Jr. union is NASCAR’s missing link, you know, the next big thing, a moon shot for the sport,” Kelly wrote. “It would bring one aspect of NASCAR full circle.”

Think a bit more outside of the box and it could make tremendous sense, particularly if Earnhardt struggles with HMS again in 2010. Even though he has a five-year deal with Hendrick that runs through 2012, if the marriage just isn’t working – and if it continues to look next year like it never will work – I’m betting Hendrick would cut Junior loose from his contract if he asks.

And, even though Earnhardt and Hendrick have had a close relationship for years, it’s nowhere near as close as the relationship Junior has had with Childress his entire life, particularly while growing up. Junior thinks of Richard as a second father and Richard thinks of Junior as a son. What better way to welcome the prodigal son back into the family, so to speak, than to put him in his father’s old ride?

Do you know what such a reunion of sorts would do to NASCAR? The publicity alone would be the biggest and most positive we’ve seen in many years, even bigger than when Junior announced he was leaving DEI for Hendrick Motorsports.

If it were to happen, the Junior Nation would go crazier than it ever has. And can you imagine the tens of millions of dollars that Junior, Childress and Hendrick (certainly, he has to have some kind of cut of the pie if he lets Junior out of his contract) could rake in with souvenir and memorabilia sales from diecasts to jackets, from ball caps to t-shirts.

And what about Chevrolet? With all the economic woes it and General Motors have had, this wouldn’t be just a home run, it would be the equivalent of 100 grand slams. I can already see thousands of young bucks lining up at their local Chevy dealer to buy an upcoming Dale Earnhardt Jr. model Impala – in all-black, of course.

Harvick, from what I’ve been hearing, has a number of options on the table. He could join Stewart Haas Racing as a third driver (most likely), stays with RCR or starts his own Cup team (both not as likely) or, in a rather interesting twist, would drive for Junior if he decides to start his own Cup operation (remains to be seen).

It’s not outlandish at all. Junior’s father built DEI while racing for RCR. Why can’t Junior race for RCR while taking JR Motorsports to the next most logical level: Cup racing?

A: I hope Junior goes to RCR. He has NOT done well with HMS, and it seems that the more they try to improve things for him on the team, the more he goes downward in this spiral. No, it’s not outlandish. It does all makes sense. He should go for it, and HMS should suck it up.
