Q: Any one know the release date of the chevy hhr ss?
A: in the year 2525
Q: 2008 Chevy HHR SS?
Does anybody know what the approximate price would be on these? I know they are not out yet but I would think at least some people know.
A: Magazines have said it will be under $25k. Possibly as low as $22k.
For 260hp, that could be a performance bargain….
Q: Chevy HHR SS, any good? yes, no, maybe?
A: They’re a great little car! I used to sell them and I really liked them. I’ll give you some tips though:
Get the LT model with the larger 4 cyl. engine. They use the Cobalt engines and for me, I just found that the body was a little too heavy for the smaller 4 cyl. and it dragged a little. The remote starter is awesome because you can start the car and cool it off or warm it up before jumping in and driving off.
The back end interior is plastic lined – so you can throw just about anything in there and not worry about ruining the carpet – cause there isn’t one!
There’s tie-downs everywhere for anchoring if you’re putting something in that you don’t want to slide around. And when you put the back seats down (they fold flat) and the front passenger seat down, you’ve got over 8 feet of length! Plus the width is about 5 feet and you’ve got a high roof too, so you can cram just about anything in them!
I saw a TV ad that says Chevy is offering up to $2500 off the LT model this week (Memorial week). This is a great deal! And it’s a Chevy deal, not a specific dealership deal.
I sold HHR’s when they first came out 2 years ago and the markup was a little under $1,000. Best rebate they offered was $500. So for you to be able to get $2500 off is a great deal. Take full advantage!
Hope this helps!
Q: chevy cobalt ss or hhr ss?
im just wondering which one would you choose to get the new chevy cobalt ss turbo charged yes they are briging the cobalt ss back with a turbo charged engine same one thats in the solstice or would you get the hhr ss also would you get a moon roof in it?im asking because im plannin gon getting a new car in a year and im thinking on the hhr ss or the cobalt ss.there both turbo charged so i dont know what one id like to get.
A: get the turbo cobalt
Q: chevy cobalt ss turbo or hhr ss turbo?
now that the chevy cobalt is coming back later this year with a turbo charger on it i already asked this once but theres more than 20 people in the world.im 6,5 i sa in both the hhr and cobalt i fit inthem very good plenty of room.im planning on selling my car i have nopw to my mom.id like sumthing that looks nice and is fast and no im not going to do any street racing.the hhr ss and the cobalt ss look very nice.which one one would sumone prefer to get.this time i buy the hhr or the cobalt im going to have to keep it for a while im young yet and sumtime in the next few yrs i mite start a family and id hate to get rid of the cobalt ss turbochraged.
A: The are built on the same platform. It all comes down to looks.
I would get the Cobalt SS.
Q: Do you think a Chevy HHR LT SS is a good dependable vehicle?
I am a little leary of domestic autos but these get very good gas mileage and they are very roomy inside and they are pretty darn cheap. I am driving a Nissan Armada now and even with the gas prices down that thing costs me $50 to fill up and only gets about 14-16 HWY MPG. What cars would you recommend that are cheap.
I have looked at the Honda’s but they are pretty pricey, up around 20K. I want one around 10K or 12K since I plan to keep the Armada for when the whole family goes somewhere, I need a cheap payment.
A: Ok Look. I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LS 80,000 miles on it, I have even turbo charged the dam engine and I stress the Hell out of it, and to this day, I have had not one single problem with the car. I have a chevy truck that has 600,000 miles and no problem yet and still running fine. If your a gear head like me you would understand that you really can’t ask honda people about other car makers product because sterotypically they think all Honda are the greatest car ever and reliable which is a lie, You honestly don’t think civic are no where to be found in junk yards? my friend bought a brand new Civic Si 2007 and anything that can go wrong with a car did go wrong with that car. He Hates Honda now and his Mustang i doing so much better. Its a myth about foreign car being better. I spend my time with all kinds of cars and with the care I give them, no cars give me trouble.
As far as the HHR goes, the HHR is an ecotech engine which is the same engine the cobalts have. It should be very reliable as long as you change fluids right on time, the SS models are Turbocharged so you will be getting a bang for your buck lol. And very economical 30 mpgs to the freeway
Q: What colors are available for the 08 chevrolet hhr ss?
The new Chevrolet HHR SS just came out. The Chevy website says its availiable in 6 colors, but which ones? Can anybody help me. There is not much literature availiable yet since it just came out in fall 07. I need to know which colors you can get.Thanks.
A: Go to AOL autos, you will find the colors there.
Q: chevy hhr question?
now im a big chevy guy and i want sumthing alittle more powerfull than a cavalier which i have a 03 cavalier now would anyboy recomend me getting a hhr next year when they bring out the ss hhr or not
A: you’ll love the HHR, the styling is that of a 1949 Suburban.. and its classic all the way. They drive great and the 2.4 LT will move on just fine.
Plus you get 30mpg to go along with that classic styling. GO FOR IT!
Q: Why do I still have no success finding a date and continue to be single?
I am a 24 year old graduate student who has his life in order. I have graduated college and only have one more year until I get my masters. Have been told I am sexy, good looking cause I work out. Been told I could be an Abercrombie model even. I have a new car, Chevy HHR SS Edition, good income, provide for myself, always paying my bills on time. Like football, basketball, baseball, and NASCAR. Yet even after suggestions still having problems. Something just aint right.
A: You are probably too full of yourself. Or your standards are too high.
90% of girls will not care about your car. In fact, when I met my husband to be, he was driving a car that was falling apart.
Q: What do you think of the Chevy HHR LT2?
Ok so i’m thinking of trading in my 2009 chevy aveo LT for the 2009 chevy HHR LT2. i would like more room and maybe something a little more safer. The HHR i am interested in is $14,500 with 13,000 miles on it. It is the LT2 so it has most of the options but not as much as the SS. What do you think of this decision ? thanks
A: Great Car and Safe Car in the HHR
I can’t find a Good SS model near me used.
Getting out of the Aveo is a great move for safety.
Good decision to move up.
Q: Why is Chevy killing the SS name?
Impala SS – front drive mom car that drives funny
Monte Carlo SS – See above
Cobalt SS – It is decent for a sport compact, I’ll let it slide
HHR SS – lame
Trailblazer SS – Not bad, but not great either. Gets smoked by it’s competition.
The last car that deserved to wear the SS badge was the Camaro. It was true to the SS name. Putting SS on a current Impala is an insult to the 1996 Impala SS and the 1964 Impala SS. These new “SS” cars are all jokes. Why is GM trying to kill the SS name?
The Trailblazer SS has a 395 hp LS2. It never has and never will get an LS7. And the Cherokee SRT8 will mop the floor with a Trailblazer SS.
A: couldnt agree with you more. muscle cars need to come back not looking like the so called charger now but like the stang and challenger. first of all the impala and monte carlo need to be rwd again take suvs and sport compacts out of the equation
Q: Why do some people hate fast 4 cylinder cars?
i tell older people like my father(I’m 22) that i want a chevy cobalt ss turbo, or maybe a lancer evo, hhr ss, etc. they have this insane theory that all 4 bangers get 40 mpgs and cant handle more than one passenger. i know that the old muscle cars were fast, very fast. but these 4 bangers are the “new” sports car. some do 0 to 06 in under 5 seconds??? why all the haters?
A: LOL the “new sports car” get a grip dude. 4 bangers are NOT real sports cars. Show me where Italian car companies use 4 cylinder. They may be the “new American” Sports car, but they AREN’T sports cars. 0-60 in under 5 seconds isn’t anything that special. I will agree that people underestimate the 4 cylinder, but look at 0-100 or 0-120 and compare that to the older cars. Thing is that those 4 cylinders start to show when you get to the higher speeds. Sure they work fine at low speeds to get going fast, but that’s where their power tends to be. I will say there are SPORTY 4 cylinders, and for standard people they are “sports” cars. For someone who WANTS a sports car a 4 cylinder isn’t anywhere near one.
ADD: Sleepy do you want a Jetta/Civic/whatever else that has been around for years or do you want an old Charger? Who would take the time to fix up an old Civic? They didn’t look like anything special, and weren’t. An old muscle car was something special and hard to replace. An old Mustang is a thing of beauty. An old ‘Vette is worth looking at. An old Jetta isn’t. People aren’t going to keep these things running and put money in them when they can buy a new car, because they don’t look like anything special. It’s not that they can’t last as long, it’s that people aren’t going to put money in them.
Q: Unleaded Fuel Turbocharger?
I have asked a question like this before if there is a Turbocharger or Supercharger that doesn’t require premium gasoline. Most people say that there isn’t such a thing. I looked on fueleconomy.gov and I saw that the Chevy HHR SS (which is turbo’ed) can run on Unleaded.
Is there a way you can tune a turbo to run on 87 or 89 octane?
Thanks for the help, Chad.
I want a WRX but there is the premium gas…
There is a 2.5i (N/A) but then it might not be as fun to drive. Is the extra money worth having a Turbo?
I mean, is the fun factor worth paying for premium gas
A: the reason it needs the higher octane fuel is becuase of the compression ratios that are present when the turbo or the supercharger is in boost
without the higher octane fuel you will get detonation witch is bad for your engine and performance if you want to forced induction vehicle your going to have to fork up the extra money for fuel or risk damaging something
Q: truck or car?
im panning on getting a newer used truck or a new cobalt ss turbo charged or the hhr ss turbo chaged next year.id like a car for the milage they get but when you need to carry sumthing thats bulky you really cant but then the way gas is going id have to sell the truck after i buy it to fill up the tank lol.i dont know why i need a 260 hp car i wont go street racing with the cobalt ss or the hhr ss.so im planning on getting a 1500 silverado ext cab. i need help deciding on wha ti want id like both the cobalt ss and a truck but im 20 and i hate owning to vehicles at one time.so what im asking is should i get the hhr ss ,chevy cobalt ss or a 1500 silverado with a small v8 or the v6 in it.
A: 06 Chevy Silverado 1500 V6 2WD $16-$18,000
02 Chevy Sileravdo 1500 2wd V6 $12 – $14,000
01 Chevy Silv 1500 2wd $10 – $12,000
00 Chevy Silv 1500 2wd $8 – $10,000
avoid the 4WD versions they have poor reliability
Q: chevy cobalt question?
i really really wan ta new cobalt ss supercharged before they go out of prodction. i have a 03 cavalier bnow that my mom wants to buy off of me but i owe 7000 on it yet. not to the bank just one of my relatives.and ive been reading that they are coming out with a 265 hp hhr ss next year with the same engine thats in the cobalt ss i just dont ge ty they are takin git out of production should i wait to see what they hhr ss looks like or go for the cobalt ss
A: I honestly think the HHR is one of the ugliest cars around, next to the PT cruiser. If your mom wants it bad, ask her if she can help you out a little with the new one. Or ask for 12 or 15 for it from her. That would let you pay off your relatives and leave you with a couple g’s to put down on your new car. Though we’re talking about family here, so thats where it gets a little tricky…
You can go with the Cobalt ss, but i would prefer to go with a Dodge Charger with the 6.1 L SRT Hemi V8 Engine (~425 HP and 420 ft-lb of torque at 4800 RPM). The Cobalt only has a 4 cylinder engine, though still kinda powerful ( 2L 4 cylinder engine with 205HP at 5600RPM and 200 ft-lb of torque at 4400 RPM) and it would get good gas mileage, the Dodge Charger SRT8 would smoke it, although not getting as good gas mileage. (Plus the Dodge SRT8 is rear-wheel drive, so you can do awesome burn outs as stop signs – something I love to do in my dad’s ‘75 Transam.) The other Car i Kinda had my eye on was the Pontiac G6. Nowhere near as powerful as the Charger, but if you get the GTP package, you get their 3.6L V6 (252 HP and 251 lb-ft of torque)
So, i’m pretty sure you’re looking for a normal car to drive everyday. If that’s so, you won’t be dissapointed with the Cobalt ss because youll get good gas mileage and a (kinda-sorta) powerful car. I’m not really sure why they’re dropping the Cobalt SS, but i did find this:
“and the Cobalt SS Supercharged is being dropped altogether. It could be that Chevy wants to focus more attention on the upcoming HHR SS we showed you a little while ago. Whatever the reasoning, it appears the little Cobalt that could, will be no more. Unless, of course, Chevy is just working on finding a way to get the GXP/Redline 260-hp mill into the Cobalt’s engine bay.”
If you want speed and to smoke your friends on the street, go for the Charger SRT8. If you want fuel economy and a (kinda) sporty car, go for the SS before they’re gone, or even the G6. Although I’m sure you could find a used SS if you looked hard enough.
I hope I answered you question, at least somewhat. If I were you, I would look at Pontiac and Dodge’s websites. There’s my two cents.
Price breakdown:
Chevy Cobalt SS (coupe) – $21,590
Dodge Charger SRT8 (sedan) – 38,820
Pontiac G6 GTP (sedan) – $25,300
