I like the F-150 better but i really like the cargo box on the side of the Ram.

A: if you constantly need to haul heavy loads the Ford is a lot better.

otherwise the Rams new suspension makes it smoother for daily driving

Q: Why can’t I order towing mirrors on a 2010 Ford F-150 FX2 with max tow package?
I am attempting to build a 2010 F-150 FX2 with Max Tow (53M) and black manual telescoping power heated trailer tow signal mirrors (54P). I can order the basic tow package (535) and add tow mirrors (54P). However when I order the max tow package (53M) I can no longer order the towing mirrors (54P). I don’t understand why I can’t order tow mirrors with a towing package. I believe that this is a glitch in Ford’s build program. Help?

Q: 2010 Ford F-150 exhaust?
I just traded on my 06 Mustang GT for a 2010 F-150 4 door. I had flowmaster on my mustang and loved that sound. Was curious if F150 can achieve that sound as well and if so what should I get put on. It’s not 4×4 has 1 exhaust pipe. Someone told me with the new converters that it’s pointless to buy new exhaust. But on YouTube several peoples have the f150 sounding nice. Keep in mind I have minimal knowledge of cars. And need to keep cost resonable

A: Flowmaster makes mufflers that would fit your F-150, so there’s no problem putting a new muffler on your truck. You could also look into a “Cat back” system which replaces everything from the catalytic converter back to the rear bumper, but it’s going to cost you around $650 plus labor. I’d just try replacing the muffler first.

I plan on buying a new lariat, but I just needed a bit more info from owners or car people. I know its a 5.4 liter V8 but how much horsepower, torque, payload weight, is it a good truck overall etc? Thanks

A: how much horsepower – 5.4L 310 hp V8, 14 / 18 mpg
torque – 365 @ 3500 RPM
payload weight 1700lbs. – 3070lbs.

The F-150 gained standard ESC and a six-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from the 5.4-liter V8 is improved but the engine still sounds coarse. Otherwise, the cabin is very quiet. The revised interior has more comfortable front seats and a very roomy rear seat. Handling is secure and braking performance is vastly improved. The ride remains stiff and jumpy. Built-in controls for trailer braking are handy. There are some neat options, including extend-able side steps, a tailgate ladder to ease accessing the bed, and a tailgate assist. Crash-test results are impressive.

A: Platinum is a more classy package. The Harley Davidson is if you are looking for a more rugged package, and obviously if you like Harley Davidson. I personally think that the platinum edition is better.

A: According to this list of “standard equipment” (taken from a Ford ordering guide) the rear window is a fixed solar tinted glass. A window that opens isan “option” (from the factory) for fleet customers… HOWEVER most Ford dealers can offer an aftermarket installation of a manual sliding rear window.

A: its to let you in the doors with out a key!!!! and let me tell you it saves your butt all the time when you lock your keys in the car guess what yoyu can get back in and not have to pay a locksmith to get you in your car…

Q: would a 2008 ford f-150 supercharger kit work on a 2010 ford raptor?

A: The 5.4 Triton had a minor update for the redesign that took place with the 2009 Truck, so I am not sure if the plumbing or other mechanical parts were changed much. The update was only worth 15 Hp if I remember reading my Truck Trend Correctly.

Any hew, the Raptor is AWESOME, but it is a Dog because the 5.4 is an antique compared to the competition. But the 2011 Ford Full Size is suppost to have a new 6,0+ Liter motor with over 400 horsepower! Sometimes waiting is it’s own reward.

But look up a performance shop that does trucks, any internet search. Find one that does Ford trucks and give their mechanic a call, they should have the most reliable info as their mechanics and not some job schmo like me typing away in their free time….. Did I just call myself a lonely geek :)

A: The Raptor by far. It has more suspension travel, larger tires, better approach and departure angles and the suspension is setup for off-roading where as the F-250 is setup for towing and hauling. The Raptor is also about a thousand pounds lighter.

A: Personally I’d go with the Ford. They are the most reliable on the road; so says Consumer Reports. I’d supply you a link to the Consumer report, although, you have to be a member to view it so that’s no help.
